v1.3 Changelog

General Changes

  • New Content: The Arena! Speak to the Ranni Puppets found in the lobby of each colosseum to enter The Arena. The Arena is an event filled with a variety of challenges hosted by the three* colosseums found around The Lands Between.

    • With v1.3, Limgrave and Caelid’s colosseums have opened their doors, but the Royal Colosseum found in Leyndell is still under construction.

    • Take home a victory in The Arena to be awarded with Gold Coins, a new currency used to purchase items from the Colosseum Shops.

    • You’ll find that the enemies found in the colosseums are weighted to their specific area in both power and reward, so choose your venue wisely.

  • New Content: Use the Gold Coins you get in The Arena to purchase new items from other games in the series. All of these were ported by KRDCD unless otherwise noted.

    • Elite Knight Set

    • Gloom Set

    • Havel’s Set

    • Catarina Set

    • Faraam Set (Ported by Madao)

    • Wolf Knight Set (Ported by Madao)

    • Lady Maria’s Set (Ported by Cathal)

    • Black Witch Set (Ported by KRDCD, updated by me)

    • Desert Sorceress Set (Ported by KRDCD, updated by me)

    • Solaire’s Set

    • Marvelous Chester’s Set

    • Mensis Cage (Ported by Kit)

    • Astrologist’s Set (Ported by me)

    • Emerald Herald’s Set (Ported by me)

    • Wooden Shield from Bloodborne (Ported by me)

    • Shattered’s Bloodborne weapons have also been added to this shop and removed from the world.

    • Hunter’s and Dragonslayer’s sets have both moved to this shop as well.

    • More to come!

  • Updated Mechanic: New Game+ Overhaul. The Omnipotent Statue in the Chapel will now give you the option to skip ahead to Journey 2. When you do this you’ll receive a ton of runes as well as some items to help you get caught up.

    • You’ll also be teleported to Roundtable Hold immediately where you’ll find that you already have all the maps unlocked, the ability to level up and summon Torrent, as well as access to a few key graces across The Lands Between.

    • The skip provides enough Smithing Stone Shards to upgrade 3 Standard and 3 Unique weapons to max. It also unlocks the Omnipotent Shop at the Ranni Puppet if you’d like to purchase anything else with the over four million Runes you now have.

    • Don’t forget to use some of those Runes to level up though! It should be enough to get you to around Level 110.

    • NG+ Scaling has been altered as well. Enemies scale higher overall, but they should be more or less the same in terms of HP/Damage across Limgrave, Liurnia, Caelid, and Altus. This is to incentivize progressing through the first part of the game in an irregular, non-linear fashion. Things ramp up again after Leyndell, however. This is a work-in-progress change that I very much need feedback on!

  • Updated Mechanic: Rolls are back! When locked-on you’ll still do the Bloodborne-style dash, but now when locked-off you’ll perform Medium Load rolls.

    • This is something I was really hoping to implement and thanks to f wang and philiquaz (along with all the people messing with HKS) I was able to figure it out.

  • Some improvements have been made to the new idles:

    • Most Great Spears and Halberds, when one handed, are now held upright.

    • Most bigger weapons, when offhanded, are now also held over the shoulder.

    • Staves, Fists, and Claws have new idles while both one- and two-handing.

    • Two-handing a Seal appears like you’re one-handing it.

    • The Omenkiller Cleavers are held and used closer to how Omenkillers use them.

    • Any janky clipping while running two-handed (notably in Katanas and Thrusting Swords) should be fixed.

    • These changes wouldn’t have been possible without some fine work from El Fonzo and Angel Dasha.

  • New Graces Added

    • Limgrave Colosseum

    • Caelid Colosseum

    • Royal Colosseum

    • Gowry’s Shack

  • Added a Statue of Marika for Rennala’s fight.

  • Shattered’s Broken Bottle has been replaced with the Broken Sword from Dark Souls 3.

  • Shattered’s two easy modes (Newblood & Cakewalk) have been removed. I’ve also reverted the Rune and Stamina boost that the Standard difficulty gave you and changed the name of it to Vanilla.

  • The rest of Shattered’s unique weapons have been removed.

    • The Green Turtle Talisman +1 and +2 variants have been removed as well.

  • The altered Rune Gain of the Gold Scarab has been reverted back to 20%.

  • The speed of the map cursor has been doubled.

  • Title screen now has a new background that fills the whole screen.

    • Thanks to VolkMods and ZLOHORT for the .gfx file that allowed this change.

Known Issues
  • The Desert Sorceress skirt is equipped with the top. This isn’t exactly a bug, it’s just a weird limitation of cloth physics. Won’t be able to fix this until I learn custom physics, which is difficult!

  • Certain armors need to be re-equipped to show changes. If you ever feel like something isn’t displaying properly, just re-equip it.

  • Cathal’s Lady Maria Hunter port has some quirks to it like the gloves equipping with the pants. I recommend wearing the whole set or not wearing it at all. I may fix this in the future.

  • Some armors may not appear correctly in cutscenes, please let me know if you spot any of these.
